Another bland, boring, 'nothing' game though, Chris, which unfortunately this tournament will be full of in the early stages. That's why the Russia match was such a shock. I suspect that they felt duty bound to entertain, as a result of being the home team!
Only when we get two teams who have the confidence and ability to play at a high tempo and impose THEMSELVES on games, by properly attacking the opposition, rather than simply nullifying them, will we get some entertaining football.
Hopefully that will come later tonight, with Spain and Portugal, but I'm certain it'll come when France play, who on paper at least, are the most exciting team in the competition. They played some wonderful stuff in the last World Cup.
Btw, full marks to ITV who featured a black woman as a pundit. No idea who she was, although she spoke eloquently and knew her subject well, but bringing more women into the sport, on all levels, is to be applauded!

Indeed. Statistically he is, but I still prefer Bale. He's more my type of player. Both are genuinely world class, though.
I had to laugh when some of the pundits were putting Harry Kane forward as 'world class', desperately trying to talk up England's World Cup hopes. He's good, but couldn't lace either of the above's respective pairs of boots!

Yep looking forward to some more great games.... I often look forward to the teams like Japan who may not be the worlds best but make for an interesting game. I just like to see heart and soul in a match over professional cynicism.
I will need to see a few more matches but might have a bet on Germany or Brazil to take it. Theres quite a few teams you cant rule out if they have their day. Theres a few draws that could go either way but nobody will be hammering the bookie on those odds
