I'm Drew.
My setup has now reached a stable configuration and this time I tried to do a low-cost diy optimization.
I wanted to act on the vibrations of the cabinet and the inspiration was given by the Vibbeaters.
The manufacturer says that these mouse-shaped bags act in three areas:
- the weight of the Vibbeaters increase the stability of the cabinet
- the bags extend the height of the loudspeaker cabinet to a point outside of it, and in that way a part of the vibration will be outside of the cabinet
- the magnetic characteristics of filling inside the Vibbeater (it should be copper and other non specified precious metals) impacts on electromagnetics fields generated around and in the cabinet
I've done my bags with the leather bag of Ron Pampero, filled with a mix of 2 two different types of fine quartz sand for aquarium.
And this is the result:
Has anyone done a similar testl?

Yonks ago, there was a habit of sticking lumps of (roofing?) lead on top of -not just speakers - but amps.
I now use mine as fitness aids (weights!)
I like the 'cabinet'. Just what I need, though I currently have the Kuro (TV) bolted to the top of mine!
I'd need some serious wall-mounts!
Chris.
