It's not a difficult job. It is worth doing properly on these. They are quite valuable drivers, so I'd get the best surrounds available..
I’ve never done foams before, having said that I was bricking it when I decided to replace the ferrofluid on my 104/2’s and it was so bloody easy , as were their surrounds .... hold on yes I have done them before DOH !
I would always get the best quality materials but the foams all look the same

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Ignore the stories about taking out the whole cone or removing the centre dust cap to shim the coil, that just inceases the likelihood of damage. You should be able to do these without doing any of that.

And the glue supplied is usually PVA and there's better stuff available.

    Cheers Grant .
Reading up about them they do appear to have quite a following .
These sound incredibly bright though ( low volume of course)

Damn cheeky if you ask me!

But I guess you could. You'll need to order a pair of surrounds. I expect most suppliers will be in the US. I'm sure we can sort them.

Go for black. Keep it original.

Make sure they are the right ones. They'll be shaped to the cone edge profile. You can't use just any 8" surrounds and be sure of success.
