not much of a fan of the album myself, a bit dull and the production is a bit scratchy. Never bought it myself An ex girlfriend who bore more than a passing resemblance to young Carole used to have a copy.

The best thing about it is the cat on the cover. He's called Telemachus, (named after the son of Odysseus) which is very cool.

Tapestry is basically a woman's album, as is Bridge Over Troubled Water and anything recorded by Neil Diamond.

    I know. 'Woman's album' indeed.

The correct term is 'Chick music'.

I still say the cat is the best thing about it.

I just don't agree with the "Woman Album" tag,

Good songwriting is in itself something to appreciate and to have such talent as James Taylor doing your backing vocals and guitar riffs just makes it even more appealing. Sure, the lyrics may be from a woman's perspective but a good album is a good album regardless.

Just a shame the recording was shite

And yet is was overseen by Joni Mitchell, whose production is always very good. Probably hobbled it on purpose, afraid of the competition.

Not keen on James Taylor either. American folk has always been a bit dodgy. Not like the British stuff which can at least be bizarre on occasion.

Lol, no winning this one is there!

Rated 36th most important album of all time? Does that help?
