If you have a foot fetish and cheat on your other half does that mean you get off on the wrong foot?

Your radiator will provide a convenient earth point.
If you are worried by discharge into your kit, simply touch it on the way to you stuff....then swear.

In my less enlightened years......what, last week etc....I had a tube TV in the bedroom next to a radiator.
Observing the tube crackling merrily on shutdown I pondered the voltage available so wiped my hand around the face then touched the rad.

The blue arc was quite large.....and increased my colourful language by a surprising amount.

When static is bad I use my stick. Grip the metal and then touch it onto something earthed. No shock as spark is between earth and stick.

I've received static shocks from wearing composite soled shoes and walking on wood floors, when I touched the controls of my Freeview box - ouch!

I get static shocks every time I get out of my car. Probably down to the dodgy synthetic fabric seat covers.

Yonks ago I got a new Akai amp that had a (for that time) revolutionary control panel that used touch contacts to switch sources; only problem was I had to jump in the air to make it work .. if I was making contact with the carpet the buttons wouldn't respond

Firmly hold the metal door before putting foot down. It won t hurt then when it discharges
