There was a programme on BBC1 last night "The Big Crash Diet Experiment", some of you may have seen it. The one who had the greatest weight loss was a vicar who I didn't see doing any exercise, some of the others were shown exercising. He reversed his Type 2 Diabetes and said he felt great. IMO he looked terrible, you lose a lot of weight off your face when you diet in later life (I know) His body shape remained the same.

There are many and complex reasons for eating a poor diet or too much food etc, but often body dysmorphia prevents some from changing eating habits or exercising for better health or to feel better about how they look. If you can get a better looking and leaner body that works better then you are more likely to sustain the changes IMO of course.

I've gone up from ten and a half stone to nearly twelve stone since xmas, so I'm cutting down on my food intake. Around eleven stone will be fine. Should do that quickly.

I am in my third week of the diet and have lost just over half a stone which I'm pretty happy with and a couple of inches off the waistline

I felt a bit rough for a couple of days in the first week but now I'm actually finding it pretty easy and on about 600-800 calories a day and because of being in Ketosis I am not hungry

Why do we get the cravings though especially in middle age?

I cut out biscuits and cakes but Im just binge eating 1KG boxes of fruit and fibre cereal. Ive relapsed on the crisps with at least two family bags and Im snacking on anything thats on offer..... packeted sandwiches with cheese in them, ham anything that isnt biscuits and cakes.

It gets incredibly boring eating next to nothing and then the cravings start. The body just isnt good at regulating itself and it craves more until my belly is bulging. I cant be hungry so why do I feel like eating more?

Even with a big layer of fat the body craves more. It really should be better at using that fat and not wanting more food

I still have cravings just not about food

Crisps are my weakness.. I just love them but had no thoughts about them on this diet...

Being in Ketosis is the answer when it comes to using up your fat reserves and not wanting more food, or being hungry for that matter

My diet seems very effective. I've put on three more pounds this week.
