    Who would believe that the T/T I had in '63 or '64, my first 'transcription turntable', would still be coveted today, over half a century later. The deck was fine, but the arm was a bit iffy, even then. The 88, I think it was, proved to be a better deck but I had a different arm on it (ADC wooden one ?)

    Yes, I think you're right. It had a tapered wooden arm-tube. I think I might have got it from Lasky's when I worked there sometime in the later sixties. Memory's a bit hazy about that period, for obvious reasons............ (Sorry, Jimbo).
