    Default Pioneer kx-636

Having a tinker with this fully working ( vu bulbs ordered) vintage receiver from Japan .
I’m sure this is an SX-636 really, perhaps the KX version was for a certain country?

The SX-636 has a different tuner section. Just AM/FM I think. No SW.

That is a fine looking receiver! I have always loved the 70's and early 80's goodies. Enjoy!

The SX-636 as Geoff rightly says has an AM/FM tuner and no short wave.

I had one when they were new
    CD player = Marantz CD6006
    DAC/pre = Rotel RC 1572
    Power amp = ADA PF201
Speaks = Quadral Chromium Style 6

That is a truly STUNNING looking piece of equipment, Andy, and epitomises classic Jap engineering at its best! No doubt it sounds great, too. Enjoy

It sounds as good as it looks too , on it’s way to a record ( vinyl) shop in Luton.
