I'm still waiting for GLS to get back to me. Can you ask suart if it's better for you to send it. If they reimburse anything I'll send it on to Stuart.

TBH I don't think Stuart should be paying for this, he's already paid once.

Would this not be much easier organised over Skype, Facebook Messenger or Hangouts than posts here every few hours

I'd rather not do it privately in case it goes missing or gets damaged as it's such a high value item, I'd rather it was all sorted openly and transparently. Happy for someone to start a new thread in a different area outside the classifieds.

I agree Lawrence. I understand that Stuart has paid and that the courier is at fault and needs to deliver for free and fulfill its obligation - I'm doing what I can here in Spain and just need them to confirm when they will collect it from you and deliver to Stuart.

However if you're saying that you are unsure of your availability for pick up then it's better not to wait and just get it shipped. Did you say it was £27? If it's around that then message me your PayPal and I'll take the hit. But whatever happens from that point is not my responsibility.

No let's wait to hear what they say, I can't take over responsibility for anything that happens to it. Their UK partner is Parcelforce who pick up from post offices so we should be able to sort it easily enough.

This is a sad story but no matter how clear it is that the courier appears to be at fault the moment you make a claim the courier normally has a clause to allow him to claim “salvage”.

So the claim may or may not cover the value but the goods subject of the claim become then property of the courier.

In this instance don’t claim but pursue the courier to complete the delivery as the goods location is known.

We send around 40 packages a day and find lost/late deliveries are best pursued via painfully long telephones calls rather than automated claims procedures.

    Mel
