    I'm Des.

    Default FS: Sony PS-6750

Had this for a while and can honestly say it's one of the best value things I've owned in hifi. It was one of the upper end turntables made by Sony, DD with a S bend carbon tubed tonearm an removeable headshell. I've had an AT OC9ml/ii and it makes a lovely sound, plenty of detail, drive and an even top to bottom tonal balance.

It's had little use in the past year so I've decided to go streaming and spotify for a while (until life becomes less hectic and a few major projects are finished) and I don't like things sitting unused. It has 2 small issues, the strobe light can be intermittent and the power switch sometimes sticks down (this has been getting better as I've switched it on and off a few times for pictures and to check it all works ok so may be down to lack of use).

I'm after £300 collected from Sheffield, it includes the Sumiko headshell but not a cartridge, demo welcome, in fact preferred.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Agree, I had one too and only changed because I wanted something I could mess with plinths for.

Made me realise how good these old DD's are. Price is very fair.

Hi Des. I'm pondering, but may need several weeks before I could collect. I wouldn't expect you to wait that long for payment, but are you pushed for space and need shot of it?

It can stay on the turntable shelf for as long as you need. Couple of pals live your way so if they are passing by it may be possible to get it a lot nearer to you.

Just checked ebay and the last few have gone for £450 or more! This one has the original lid, which the ones on ebay don't seem to have. Good job I dislike Ebay so much or it'd be on there this afternoon, extra £100 would be nice.....

I owned one of these for a fair while.

Fabulous thing to use and listen to. For that money it is a total no brainer.
