    Default Hello

Just saying a quick hi, this is aspyringhifi
my system so far, MA Silver 300, Tellerium q black 2, Oppo 205, Denon pma1600 ne with chord clearway interconnect.
Im looking for a little advice on the amp, when I bought it around 4 months ago I didnt have the oppo, (I had a roksan kandy k2 cd player and a k2 amp) and I wanted to get more detail from the cd player so thought I would buy the denon and run the old cd player through the dac on the denon, this did make a little difference but then decided to get another cd player, so ended up with the oppo. Anyhoo now the dac on the denon is somewhat redundant and I feel that my money wouldve been better spent on a better amp..........and the question is what amp to get the maximum from the oppo and the MA's????
I listen to all types of music from classical to techno......all ideas welcome,
    tyvm.

    Hi Lance

    Welcome to the forum.

Yes, it's tricky when you buy gear only for the underlying plan to be superceded by a later purchase!
    Been there, done that.

You'd probably be better posting your question in the Blank Canvas section of the forum where it will get wider visibility.

Feel free to join in with the chat on the threads, it's a friendly forum.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

    Hi Lance. Welcome to AOS.

Your speakers are an 8 ohm load and have 90db sensitivity, so chances are they will not be too fussy about amplifiers. Meaning you can pick and choose. You could stick with the amp you have or get some demos and see what else you might like. Rega amps are worth a listen, as are Creek and many others of course.

I'm sure you'll find plenty to interest you here, so just join in any chat that appeals.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
