Default Wtd: valve or class a amp

Looks like I'll be without an amp for a few weeks...which gives me a chance to try something new.
Speakers are Audionote ks so I don't need much power. Budget upto £800.

Still, no harm in getting a spare just in case

Yep, I'd go crazy if I didn't have a spare available, just in case.
As mentioned previously by Geoff (walpurgis) just have a leetle £100 box of class D available for those desperate occasions - SMSL, Amptastic etc.
    Surprisingly good.

I was thinking more like a spare 300b SE amp or pass labs clone

The thing is, for pocket money, an SMSL will give you 95% of the sound quality in a paperback sized little box that can be tucked away inconspicously when not needed.

I also used to keep a Denon PMA-350SE as a spare amp. That slotted into my system very nicely. Most listenable.

A question, The Denon PMA-350SE, do they all have the Phono Card fitted or was it an option? (all the chassis cases have the source selector phono knob), often thought i may pick one up as a back up, but the phono 'option' would be essential. Just a thought.

I also see the Denon PMA-500V has phono MM/MC options, anyone have experience with that model? It's very cheap for what it is
