Default Meridian m2 cleaned up a tad

Looking better already, just the black veneer on the baffles to do then add the tweeters diffraction neoprene foam ( or not ?? ) then buy some brown speaker cloth ( any tips as to where to find good stuff ? ) I’m waiting to hear from Falcon acoustics about some they may have somewhere.

    Looking much better Andy.

The minor dents in the tweeters will probably have no noticeable effect on the sound. They are KEF units, T52 I think. They do crop up on ebay if you wanted to replace them. It might be worth taking one out and seeing if the impedance is marked, probably 8 ohms. They will likely measure a D/C resistance of about 5 ohms.

If it was me, I'd take the diaphragms off and attempt to persuade the small dents out, but you may not feel that adventurous .

Hi Geoff, I did wonder if the diaphragm would come away or not but the wires are the width of a hair so I’d be terrified of breaking it and although you said these Kef T52b’s pop up on eBay when they do they are silly money .
They were almost flat before I got Henry on them !

The diaphragms are bonded on. Great care has to be used removing them, especially as the coil and attached wires are extremely vulnerable.

There is a dodge you may feel brave enough to try, one I've used in the past on domes. Pinch some waxing strips off the missus, cut them into thin strips and use them to pull the dings out. Any residue left behind can be removed with wax polish lightly applied with a small soft artist's brush, which will not harm the melinex dome

    Paper masking tape works best.
I've used it to good effect on plastic, cloth and titanium domes.

You have done an excellent job there Andrew. Well done!

The Meridian M2s are/were one of the few active speakers that would interest me.
