Redex - whats your experience?

I wouldn't call it foo. It's based on sound science, and it doesn't need a fertile imagination to observe the results.

Probably didn't explain myself too clearly!
Obviously based on science as Redex will be using quality scientists to stay top of their game for so long.
Will work reasonably well for an older style engine; decoking rings etc.
However what I alluded to as Foo, on much more modern designs, all the sensors pretty much are doing the same job. Self cleaning etc.
I would think, servicing on schedule, quality oils and filters with good long runs to stop gummy build up of carbon deposits negates the need for additional foo!

Redex is fine (and works, as you've found), but as usual with these things, the Yanks do it better, simply because they're majorly into engine tweaking [of all sorts], and so their products tend to be more rigorously tested:

I use their Diesel Enhancer (see here: https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-1032-re...-enhancer.aspx ), which is top notch [a level above that offered by Redex, Wynns, STP and the like]. Opie also offer first-class service

Give it a go and see what you think in comparison. Redline engine oils are also very high quality, especially their ester-based ones

Put a can in this morning and ran the car for 50 miles or so.
Has made a much bigger improvement than Redex, cars running better than it was when I picked it up last year.
Very very smooth now and goes like stink.

I’ll be sticking a can if this in every 5K miles or so and call it done.
Redex was good, but not a patch on this stuff.

Yup... Some things are just done better in different countries, and in my experience, with most 'engine tweaks', the Yanks have it!

And talking of Yanks and cars, whilst watching Top Gear a few weeks back, I was blown away by the looks and performance of the new Dodge Demon:



Just *LOOK* at the sheer BRUTALITY of that thing!! It just SCREAMS pant-wetting POWER... Ticks all the right boxes for me, in terms of what a performance car should look like [BIG and BRUTAL], and something that TRULY *means business*

It also goes like a veritable rocket [albeit as long as it's in a straight line]

Learn to say be grateful for what you have and enjoy.
Never be able to buy a Ferrari but the important thing is not giving yourself ulcers about it!

Agree with you about Ferraris, and such like, but two things: the Demon is half the price of one, and.... I wouldn't want a Ferrari. or for that matter any other 'pretty boy', poseur's sports car - just not my thang
