My Cxc replaced a Meridian 24 bit job and I can't honestly say I have missed the Meridian.

I am not convinced by the cost effectiveness of dedicated cd transports against modern blu-ray players. I would be interested in the results of a blind listening test pitting a dedicated cd transport against a good blu-ray player into a reference DAC. Surely the tighter tolerances of the blu-ray format and lasers should provide a bit-perfect stream to the DAC.
