Default WTD: 7/10V Linear Power Supply

Anyone have a 7-10V linear power supply lying around they no longer use?
I need one which can supply a minimum 2A.

Doesn't need to be in a case, I can sort that out.

    Cheers, Stuart

    Hi
    Got this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-25W-T...kAAOSwAPlXgK5G
It's the 9VDC version that can be adjusted up and down 7VDC - 12VDC. At 9VDC it's good for 2.5A.
Brand new and unused. They are £100 with taxes and delivery. I can post it to you for £50

Default Apparent current rating of Chinese power supplies.

The supply that is linked to has misleading information.

The transformer feeds into a bridge rectifier and then a linear regulator.
Given the transformer rating and bridge configuration the maximum output current is 1.3A, beyond that the transformer will be overloaded.

You cannot just increase the current rating by adjusting/specifying a lower voltage output and saying the VA rating is the same, it's against the laws of physics Jim.
I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

They're pointlessly giving the combined dual rail output, when they should be saying 2x 1.25 amp output at up to 12v

No that's still wrong, the total current is limited to 1.3A unless parts are overloaded.

Just because it has a 25VA transformer does not mean you can get 25W DC output.
The DC current available from a bridge rectifier arrangement is 0.62 x the AC current rating.
It's been specified by an idiot.
