    I'm Jon.

    Default Hello

Afternoon from the Frozen North of the UK 🇬🇧

I’m a mid 40’s parent of a 4 year old terror with an interest in vinyl and players off.

I have an entry level vintage set up of a Pioneer SA-5500 Amplifier with a set of B&W DM5 speakers, a Pioneer PL-12d turntable with a period Shure M75 ED2 cartridge and stylus, and a Fisher AD M67 CD player.

I also run an all Fisher second set up in the man cave.

Look forward to getting wise words on my impedence (not impotence) issue 🤪

    Jon

Hi Jon, welcome to the site. Sure you will get help with your impedance, although doubt you'll have much luck with the other

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

    Hi Jon. Welcome to AOS.

You may call that an entry level system, but it's a vintage classic line up of gear and perfectly matched.

A Fisher system could be fun. I'm not sure what your impedance issue might be, so why not start a thread in the Blank Canvas section and ask your questions?

Feel free to join in and chat with the members.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.

Hi Jon, welcome to the forum

I'd like to see pictures of your Fisher set up. Always had a soft spot for them as it was my first ever kit. Still have a matching amp, tuner and tape deck in my 'storage area' (bedroom).
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

    Welcome to AoS Jon.

Fisher gear eh? Now that's a blast from the past - I lusted after one of their valve receivers way back in the mid '60s.

What are your tastes in music?

    Enjoy the Forum
