Yes. but they're the 'self-assembly' type. You buy a pie, then lob it inside the barm cake you've smuggled in!

I was working in Leigh, near Wigan recently and bought a "pea supper pie" form a baker's shop. It consisted of steak, with a slab of mushy peas on top, all inside the crust. Wasn't as nice as it sounds, but I only bought it out of curiosity.

I believe the term "pie eaters" goes back to the General Strike of 1926, when Wigan miners broke the strike before their counterparts in surrounding towns, and were said to eat "humble pie".

Having said that, Wiganers do seem to like their pies, but then, who doesn't, apart from health nuts and veggies.

I'm also led to believe that the word "vegetarian" comes from a native North American word meaning "shit at hunting".
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.
