    I'm Shane.

    Default Words That Irritate You.

Do you sometimes get annoyed by reading certain words? It can be anywhere. On the forums, newspaper, email etc.

One example is 'congrats'. This really irritates the hell out of me. This word is used too much nowadays. Even for bloody unimportant things.

    What about you?

A mainly digital setup with a musical amplifier and endearing 1970's speakers. A CD player that hardly ever gets used and a turntable that is good enough to remind my how enjoyable my old vinyl is. Some cables and things.

All US neologisms, whereby a noun is used to form a verb: "author a book"; "critique a book" "to medal" (as in win a medal at the Olympics); "gifted" (as in giving a gift), etc.

One phrase that really annoys me is "people of colour" (or, since it is popular in the US, "people of color"). Everyone, even albinos, have a skin colour.

They’re pacifically going out of their way to annoy us!
