    Default Glucosamine and chondroitin

Does anyone use these supplements with any success for their arthritis? Cheers Jim

My Wife tried just about everything for her Arhritis, including those you mention and all the gels but nothing helped. Relief came with a new knee.

Since then there have been many articles about Turmeric, which is supposed to be effective.

Ta Dave, tried turmeric, did nowt for me, I'll give these a go then it's to docs, surgery awaiting but can't take time off work just yet. Jamesons seems to work best but I doubt it'd go down well at work

A bullmastiff we had a few years ago had a problem with an arthritic hip, apparently quite common with this breed. The vet put him on some tablets, which helped a lot, but he would be on these for life. It got to be quite expensive.

When doing some work for a woman who bred horses, somehow the subject of my dog's condition came up. She recommended glucosamine and chondroitin tablets, which she really rated, but to forget getting them from the vets, and buy them from Morrisons.

We kept the dog on these for the rest of his life, and he wasn't troubled with this condition ever again.

May not work for everyone, but definitely worth trying.

According to my GP Glucosamine might possibly work though probably not, whereas Chondroitin was proven to be totally useless.

Another one to consider James, is cannabis. There is some evidence that some people have found relief using this.

The downside is that you would probably get through a lot of cakes and biscuits. And you might want to leave your motorbike in the garage

well that has been put to me before, but having seen what these things can do at close hand I'll give it a miss! Although I think it is available legally for those with incredibly bad pain
