I've a SMSL Q5 Pro I'd be happy to loan you to try out, Steve.

Check the spec on Amazon to see if it would suit your needs - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Q5-Integrat.../dp/B015ZHZG1K

I've got an itchy finger for one of these for my 2nd system. Trying not to go for it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hattor-Au...4AAOSwmo5Z1T7a

Its the Khozmo dude's high end line: http://www.hattor.com/.

I had some seriously expensive > 10K worth of class D Hypex monos that I thought sounded terrible. Really. But I have heard other class D amps in my system that sound totally different. Jerry puts it well I think. I'd hope the Khozmo stuff sounds better but no idea really. That amp above is cute, though. Very cute.

That’s very good of you, I’d actually looked at one of those as I have an SMSL Dac Headphone amp for just over a year and find it pretty good considering the price.

Although Royal Mail was painfully slow I finally received the SMSL Q5 Pro from Jerry (jandl100) this morning.
On first brief listen I have to say I’m rather impressed by it, it certainly seems to have a good degree of synergy with my Jordan Eikona 2 VTLs. Bass is tight and solid and with plenty of power, mid appears pretty open and transparent and the treble is crisp and clean without sounding brash or excessive, it’s certainly has more life and detail than the Yamaha amp I’ve just sold on, with the built in dac and remote it ticks all the boxes for what I need, good call Jerry

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
