    Default Hello Earth

Just joined, mainly in order to pick people’s brains about turntables. I’ve got a couple of Japanese direct drives, a Scottish belter, and a recently purchased Swiss idler.
The latter is for a mono cartridge, to play my dad’s old classical/ jazz LPs, might be tempted to get a non RIAA phono for them eventually.
Currently using a Cyrus phono, quiet, small, four inputs and remote controlled gain/ loading, very nice.
Class D power amp and lovely Vivid B1 speakers. Just got a Innuos streamer too, so it’s not only vinyl.
Classical and jazz predominate, but Kate Bush and Metallica, amongst others, make an appearance from time to time.

Hi Lawrence, welcome to the forum.

Start yourself a turntable thread in Analogue Art and ask away, lots of top turntable types on here including a couple of people who design and build them, you'll get good advice.

I think we might even have someone who likes Kate Bush too...

    Hi Lawrence. Welcome to AOS.

Yes. You may benefit from a non-RIAA phono stage for older mono records.

Tell us about any other future plans if any you may have for your Hi-Fi.

Feel free to join in the chat, it's a friendly place.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
