    Default Mullard 20 monoblock chassis’s

Up for sale are the chassis’s from the first valve amps I built in the early 90’s. The amp a mullard 5/20, was built onto handed monoblock chassis’s. Which are a 3mm stainless top ( non magnetic) with ash plinths. To hide the unsightly iron work ( we did that in the 90’s) steel cover were made. I sold the output transformers which were partridge c core ones about 5 years ago for a lot of money to China. I was going to get John Wood to wind me some more upto date ones, but never got around to it as I went active.

So what is up for sale is what you can see in the pictures. Plus some base covers not shown The mains transformers are partridge, one was rewound by John Wood when I shorted it by accident. I also have the partridge chokes too, which fit under the smaller covers.
They were fully working until I stripped the OPT’s out. One chassis has a hole in the front panel - an error, I had a name plate stuck over it to hide it. The transformers covers could do with a respray etc, should polish up nice enough for any wife!

They have been in the loft for about 5 years and I have been told I need to minimise my junk......

I reckon a price of £160 for the chassis’s without the chokes, or £200 with the chokes is fair ( think it cost me £100 to have the mains transformer rewound).

Again these are heavy... I am going to the kegworth show in March and Owston later if anybody wants to transfer them from one car to another.

I don’t think I would sell them for an extra £650 if I had kept the OPT’s. Btw - alot of these so called great brands weren’t so great, freq response dipped at about 15k on these. Modern ones as you know are good for a lot more.
