hi all, happy to be here!

living in the UK, on the Northants/Oxfordshire borders
(about 20 miles north of Oxford)

I'm lucky enough to work from home so I listen a lot!

    system is:
    LP: modded Michell Orbe
    digital: RAID > Roon

into an SJS Arcadia '1.5' pre
into Temple Audio monoblock power amps (as good as they are - looking to upgrade these soon)
    into Klipschorns

music?... a lot of old blues at the moment (which mostly ain't exactly hi-fi, but what the hell)

also a whole slew of other stuff can be heard curling out of my windows if you happen to be passing...
Richard Thompson; Son Volt; Dexateens; Teenage Fanclub; Dylan; Little Feat; Neil Young; Neu!; Costello; Uncle Tupelo; Big Star; Glossary; Stones; Django Reinhardt; Gene Clark; Drive-by Truckers; Husker Du; OK I'll stop now...

    speak soon - cheers all

    Hello Colin. Welcome to AOS.

Klipschorns are fun, nice speakers. What new amplification are you thinking of using with them?

I'm sure you'll find plenty to interest you here, so get involved and chat with the members, they're all friendly.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.

    thanks, Geoff

I was thinking Air Tight ATM-1 but, since I'm as hamfisted as they come, I'd probably electrocute myself setting the bias!
so the reality is something low(ish) powered and (probably) solid state
I'm starting to think First Watt or something similar (I see someone is selling an Aleph 5 here in these pages that would work)

    cheers

    Colin

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Yes. Something from Pass Labs could be a good move.
