Are all audiophiles just anally retentive old men with outdated views that nobody else really gives a toss about?

You can only afford the best kit when you're too old to appreciate it. Discuss.

I discovered that my preamp mains lead was 1mm longer than my poweramp mains lead. I had Megabucks Audio Ltd trim it for me and the difference was night and day!

Is it true, you still play your 'Bay City Rollers' albums?

Adam you should not have said that, because it is true, and also inexcusable.

There is better education available today, and PC ensures that people are not as F***** U* as people of my age were with intimidation, bullying, and constant disparagement.

The technology is so powerful now that it makes what was available 50 years ago seem primitive.

So why are there so few creatively profound art music pieces being produced now, this indicated by the drastic fall in serious music consumption, and lack of commitment to high quality sound listening?

There also may be some truth in your 'old men' statement, and also Paul's; now my ears have top loss I have at last got speakers that go up to 50K flat, and the cat notices it.
