I went - not much of interest to me but did come away with a "cheap?" Sony PS-X7 to add to my TT collection and justify the journey. Got it from a dodgy looking seller close to the entrance.

Fortunately It plays ok though I am having to work through some minor issues and learn the deck.

Ther was a fair amount of optimisting pricing going on, IMHO, too.
I was there and picked up some lovely signal valves and an AVO 8 MK4 which I have wanted. In general I thought the pricing of many amps, t/t and speakers was hilarious: £2k for a decent Quad 2/22 anyone? Let alone some of the components. Many record stalls were fantasising about daylight robbery as well. Still I had a great morning digging about and a few old faces. Fab!

Quad 2 prices continue to go up, crazy, for what is in my view a rather average sounding amplifier.

I know that bloke - he’s very dodgy.

You ought to check it’s not just a re-badged BSR...

No - I once had a BSR when I was at School so pretty sure it is not one of those. The automatic controls are quirky so there is a chance it contains components borrowed from a Strathearn.

I put a proper K9 stylus on it to get it going and it is quite sweet sounding which is encouraging. My experience is the K9 can be hard sounding on many decks.

A passing resemblance but much more sinister looking and a larger gun.
