Presumably a psu that gives 14V for maximum output.
A cheap 13.8V linear would be good.
It should work OK on 12V i would have though with a slightly reduced output.

I have one of these, not bad at all.I use it with a 13.8 regulated supply that I got off fleabay for a tenner. Much better than the supplied switched mode supply
