“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

But it's okay for the rest of you then? Bias against the moderators. Help help, I'm being oppressed! Now we see the violence inherent in the system!

I think the only way we can put this to bed is for the Admin to find some ex Grid Girls who have a genuine interest in hifi who can join the forum. We can then ask them for their informed opinion. Failing that we will just have to rely on our existing member base with pole dancing experience to let us know if they felt empowered or exploited.

That is one of those brilliant ideas that could really make a difference IMO like cold fusion power generators and such, pity it will never work.

Sure, but how are you being 'exploited' if, through choice, you're doing what YOU want to do and enjoying it? If you speak to the any of these girls, you'll find that the vast majority come into that category and couldn't be happier!

Sometimes I think we're too guilty of imposing our morals or standards on others, and deeming any non-conformity on their part as 'wrong'.
