Default FS: Nelson Pass Buffer/Passive Preamp

    Buffer/Switcher for sale.

I bought the PCB for this project several years ago and completed building it about a year ago.

Used it for around six months with a SE Tube amp with pleasing results but then bought a Croft preamp so have no further need of it.

Six inputs, two outputs, one line out and for tape rec out fitted with a 1K metal film resistor on each channel.

Passive switching via a switch bought from Hi Fi Collective, case from Modu. Those two items alone cost in excess of £80.00

    Project article

    The Switch

Supplied with IEC mains lead fitted with UK mains plug. 240V operation.

£120 plus postage. Postage is £6 in mainland UK or postage free if collected from Greenwich, SE London UK. For other parts of the planet please PM for postage quote.

I've had several enquiries and lots of questions about this item but it's not sold yet.

To explain, this is basically a switcher built with quality components with an active circuit board that is a buffer whose main function is impedance matching. Or, in common parlance, a 6-way passive preamp.

If that's not clear then PLEASE read the article I've linked to in the first post here. Thank you.

Great things. Added benefit is that it removes the impedance mis-match worry with amps-as mentioned. Clear sound guaranteed. Pass stuff is the best.

I have a friend who is interested in this, does it have enough welly to use a turntable as a source or is it for digital only?

Would this be ok with valve mono power amps?
