Default Wanted: MM Cartridge / Phono Stage

Cartridge: Top end MM. Something like an Ortofon 2M Black, Audio Note IQ3, Grado Reference.

Phono Stage: Decent quality MM stage. Something like a Graham Slee, Trichord, ProJect Tube Box etc.

Budget up to £500 or so for the pair, with some flexibility. Cartridge must be lightly used and with original packaging etc.

    Andy: PM sent.

Jake: I presume you mean the "All valve MM phono stage". If so, it's probably good value, but a DIY component doesn't appeal. Nevertheless, thank you for the suggestion.

Thought I’d mention it but understood, diy isn’t everyone’s bag

I've a Trichord Dino Mk1 with original torrid and the excellent Men 2 Never connected so there's flexible cost options.

The only downside is silver stage with black PS, but they're not recommended on the same shelf.

alex, are you the alex that I know ( Chorley ? )

If so, you can take my phono away to try if you want.

For sale, bit over budget, but fantastic.

Hi Alex, I have an Angle Audio phono which handles MM and MC. It plugs into the mains but has a rechargeable 'virtual battery' inside which it runs off for cleaner power. £100 posted. PM me if interested for more details.

Apologies the the last three posters - I hadn't see the notification update.

I'm now sorted with a phono stage (Aqvox PhonoII CI), which makes a low output MC cartridge a credible alternative.

Please let me know if you have any of the following or similar available: Denon DL-301/304, Goldring Eroica/Elite, Lyra Dorian, Dynavector DV20XL.

In reference to your original list, I do have a Grado Reference Platinum, which is lightly used, but does not come with original packing.
