Indeed. When my friends or people question the price it makes me think how obscene car buying, or designer gear, can get.

Music is a passion, daily listening enjoyment. How can you put a price on that? Be it cars, watches, computers, fishing, it all can get expensive.

I couldn't agree more Neil, a £3 watch will be virtually as accurate as a £10K one.

As for this current competitive SUV competition for style in ' Look how smart I am in my big sleek car with such slitty dark windows you can'e see me',yuch to the pretentious idiots, and women's handbags . . . .???

Music is also an art which offers social commentary, and insights into feelings about life, and when the music is concordant with the words it can be so powerful and stimulating.

Men have their gadgets, women have their shoes and handbags. Probably best to let sleeping dogs lie there.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

It's rather stereotypical, and not a little sexist too, to lump all women into the category of vacuous 'clothes freaks', as if they lacked the capacity to be interested in anything else...

I can assure you that Del has many other interests/passions, and stuff to spend money on, than just shoes or handbags!

I wouldn't take it too seriously. Not all men are gadget geeks either. I think we all know that these generalisations are just that, despite a grain of truth, and I doubt any offence was intended.

Bugger; had a feeling I'd gone wrong there. I hate gadgets (too thick to understand how they work) and my porch is awash with shoes. Imelda Marcos' spirit lives on in a transvestite Norwich suburb. Upon my many soles !
