Shure M55EM + Jico SAS

I have both Mike. Have a look at my posts concerning this combination as I have done a lot of comparison with the 2M Black.

In short the 55/Jico has all the detail of the 2M but less surface noise and is fuller bodied than the 2M . The 2M sounds leaner. The only area the 55/Jico looses out is in top end air and acoustic information but you gain a flesher tonal quality with the 55/ Jico. Compromises in both cartridges I feel, like everything you gain in one area but loose in another.

I really like both. If you want musicality then the 55/Jico is better. If you want live vivid dynamics then 2M.

Sounds like it might be an ideal cartridge for Rock?

I like my 2m Black, but looking for something just a little fuller sounding and just a tad less treble.

The M55/Jico certainly has less treble than the 2M and is fuller bodied so maybe exactly what your looking for?
