Spooky! This morning I have been up in my loft clearing it out to add some more ventilation. I came across an old A4 ring binder that I used to keep printed matter in of diy hifi stuff and on the top was the Diyaudio print outs of the Shigaclone build!

I bought 3 of the JVC boomboxes in order to mess around with and build a Shigaclone. I succeeded in building one, but broke it when I tried to modify the power lines. I can't honestly remember what happened to all the bits, but I know that I have a laser assembly and a power board....somewhere. If you are interested in me trying to find them please let me know.

Seriously, are these based on a ghettoblaster?? Is that word permitted in this country now? Hints of racism by current definition (which is as far as I can see anything that admits to a difference between people of different race, unless it celebrates anything non white British, or insults white British culture or history.)

I see that term I used is pejorative. I have amended it. I also wrote lots more, but I am here for Audio/Chat/discussion not an argument.

I've got no problem with the word at all. I was just commenting that in this ultra sensitive/snowflake world we have become no doubt there will be someone offended by it. Personally i use the phrase whenever I can to wind up any of those types that may be within earshot.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Yes, the 47 Labs Shigaraki transport from the same company that made the Gaincard, the one chip LM3886 op-amp amplifier that spawned the Gainclone.

The Shigaraki was $1750 and in the same way that the Gaincard was de-engieered, so was the transport.
