    Hugh Masekela dead too.

    Which probably means the Bristol Hi-Fi Show will be doomed to nothing but Hugh. Whittlebury seemed to do that anyway a while back to an extent that almost triggered a need to self-terminate.

    That said, the only death in the field of music that seriously upset me in a way I would never have predicted was that of Joe Strummer.

    For a while that brought a tear to the eye.

    The Clash's first album was my teenage bible.

    Very much an underestimated lyricist.

    John Peel if still around would be devastated by this news I expect.
