    Default Fuses?

I thought it was a fuses job to fuse, this seems a bit peculiar?

I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

Is that the same thing as self amalgamating tape?

I would love to see it fuse itself together.

But this tape does it without any outside intervention, so how do you get it off the roll?

There's a non stick membrane between each strip, you peel it off as you use it, I have used it as a seal on IC's between the cable and RCA instead of shrink wrap.
