You enjoy your setup Peter, the Denon DP 80 and Dynavector vinyl front end is one of the best that I have ever heard and I have heard many over the years,it is so good that I have a DP 80 arriving soon for my own system, followed by a plinth similar to the one you have. Can’t afford the Dynavector arm though, will have to slum it with the AT1503 mk111.

I think the Psvane Valves Have done it for the McIntosh.... lots of happiness ( but my god are they expensive).

Hay Nigel, your kit sounds the dogs to to me...... let alone without the Denon. you should be very proud. Apart from you have the best record collection, this side of Christendom.. not to mention your hi-Fi bits you are a bit of a star.

You've no need to apologize for anything Peter, we are all different in what we like. The mat didn't work for you, that's fine. As you've said, the Denon has been a revelation after all those years with your other turntable. I suspect yours doesn't sound much different to mine anyway.

    Thanks Paul,

I think sometimes people think you’re a bit of a nob for not liking stuff.... but we all like what we like!

I'm sure Phonomac modded an AT1503 recently with great results. I'd be inclined to ask him. Think it was Toms AT
