    Aint it just.

When you bagged that Pioneer beauty Jamie, I ached for you to put a good japanese 'S' shaped arm on it, something along the lines of the AT1010 etc and with this one you've nailed it - Gorgeous !

Cheers fellas for all the kind comments,im very pleased with it and i think i can safely say i wont be buying anymore turntables and arms now,im done!

But that doesn't stop me fiddling with it,oh no! i finished off another arm board last night to try, this is in panzerholz and i veneered it as being compressed in resin i dont think it wood take a stain very well.
it sounds good, maybe a tad more precise than the aluminum/mdf combo. strangely the manual for the arm recommends just a universal arm board (mdf) when mounting the pa-5000,no aluminum top plate.

i promise no more pictures for at least a week!

Jamie, Panzerholz is my material of choice. Better than Ply, birch, aluminium etc. I didn't know how good it was until Angus built my SP10 MK2. your arm board looks great but i kinda miss the ally look

No, I'm wrong, the Panzerholz looks way better. Looks elegant. Great work mate. A top top TT with an equally as impressive arm.

    Default tenuto mat

mine arrived today,a long wait but worth it i think based on looks alone, ive yet to hear what it adds to the mix.
very well made and weighs a ton,the pioneer uses a loose bearing on a delrin pad so if the weight does become an issues its easily sorted.

Looks fantastic, Jamie. Still to hear because you haven't tried it? Or because it's not abundantly clear yet?
