That's where they belong in my view .

Had a few sets from boot sales years ago and didn't rate them, they're an overrated and overvalued curio! Finding correct working tweeters is nigh on impossible. I'd steer clear. Just my opinion.

Am I right in thinking the original Maxim's had cone tweeters? So when you say original tweeters, which generation do you mean?

Yep the cone ones were the original so from 1965 to 1969

Could a DT3 be a suitable drop in replacement though would need 2 of them or any other suggestions fire away

Agreed - they are vastly overrated: there are much better speakers available that have a similar size.

And as I mentioned on the other forum, I’ve spent over a year looking for one original Maxim tweeter so they really aren’t common!

As an aside, I still am if anyone has one….

That’s a midrange unit and it’s physically quite a bit bigger.

Dammit Ahhh Yeah i see it now i thought it was the other way round - Looks like the only option is to hopefully send it in for repair although need to look them over when they get here first see which unit it is

If you're not concerned with originality, other Goodmans cone tweeters will likely fit, as may the EMI cone tweeters, the foam surround ones would be my choice if you can find intact items. Sensitivity mismatches may be easy to sort cheaply with an L Pad circuit.
