Just to add, HDMI 2.0 is still pretty new (2013 I think) and not found al all devices. However, even HDMI 1.4 introduced nearly 10 years ago will support 4k (and higher resolutions) though admittedly only @30 fps at 4k.

Not sure that this should affect the functionality of the cable though?

It needs to support 4K/60/HDR, which the supplied cable supports, otherwise it's a downgrade, we'll see if the monoprice one can compete when it arrives...

Maybe not on this forum, but not so on AV forums. I remember how USB 3.0 took a long time to be adopted. I had USB 3.0 hard drives for ages before I sourced a notebook with USB 3.0 ports.

Hi Marco, still awaiting delivery, apparently in the UK now so hopefully will arrive shortly...although they seem to have been through a rather messy distribution system.

Oh no, it looks like they've used the 'Global Shipping Programme' (common on ebay because it's cheap), to send your cables, and I've had some dreadful experiences with that, including items I've paid for being lost forever!

Stuff goes halfway around the world and back (hence the documented 'tour of Philleas Fogg'), and then simply get lost. I hope that doesn't happen with you... I now refuse to deal with sellers who ship with GSP, or pay extra for them to use a more reliable courier.

Fingers crossed your cables arrive safely and on time!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Well they've had a scenic tour of Kentucky and Ohio already...fingers crossed indeed!

I went with the ebay option as I couldn't find the 6' ones Gaz posted in his original column elsewhere, except the monoprice US store, and they wanted $45 for shipping.
