What's confusing me Grant is that using the monoprice I can play blu-rays at 4:4:4 (12 bit deep colour) /60/HDR, with 24fps set to off...when I activate 24p auto it doesn't work (the disk in question is planet earth II).
Hence my question to Marco R.E. 24fps blu-rays
Surely 24fps will be less bandwidth than 60fps, or am I missing something

I read somewhere where a playstation 3 was set up on deep colour as well as the bluray player. this caused the screen to blank out on some blurays including the pe2 one, when both are connected. turning off deep colour on the port for playstation somehow sorted this. not sure if its a copy protection glitch

Don't know. What's the 'p' value of a Blu-Ray disc marked as "4K HDR", such as is on my copy of Alien Covenant, which the Sony player and TV successfully reproduces in HDR, via the Monoprice HDMI cable in question.
I think you answered the matter in your earlier (now deleted) post - why you chose to delete it I don't know?
As you said, it's likely to be a Panasonic thing. All I'm anxious to guard against is the Monoprice cable in question wrongly being seen as having issues with HDR, when I'm almost certain that's not the case

I don't think I was far off the mark, but it seems to be more different marketing terms for the same thing, 4:4:4 12 bit etc. so pulled it to correct it...Don't know. With regard to 24p it depends on the disk in question, it's been around for a while, allegedly gives a more film like quality, there should be a setting in your player to activate it.
Both Planet Earth II, and Blue Planet II are filmed in 24p, if you press the 'i' button on your TV during playback you should see either 4K/24/HDR or 4K/60/HDR.
FWIW I think my UB900 chroma chip is doing something at 24p, hence issues with the monoprice at this setting

it upscales the chroma present rather than the luma. trouble with this tech is everyone is trying to do something different and thus you can get anomalies between techs of different companies. add to that, discs are not all the same either so can be a minefield
