Unfortunately we don't all have seemingly bottomless reserves of cash.

    Fair enough.

If this is the accepted practice now then I shall doff my cap and back away from the subject.

Well true, but you don't need massive amounts of cash to box-swap. You buy, you sell. You'll take a few hits but as a percentage of what you spend that's very low. Less than 10 percent for me, I think Jerry does slightly better. For example I fancied a Technics linear tracker so I bought an SL6 for £70 quid. Had a play with it, sold it for £70. Cost me nothing. Okay if you want to box swap in the high end you need a grand or so to start. But the fun is the same regardless of the level you play at.

Fair point Martin but off topic.

Question answered though. If that's the accepted practice now then I shall doff my cap and leave it at that.

    OK, back to the OP.

In my view it's just a matter of approach -- some folks know that they want a Dubris 20/30 mk3.9 amp. Others just fancy something new that appeals at the time and want to know what is available. (Or as in Mike's case, something interesting that will tide them over until a Dubris 20/30 mk3.9 actually comes along).

Both approaches are valid and reasonable in my view.
