    Default System update and tweaks

Finished my phono amp and knocked up some head amps based on the Leach common base circuit.Great little circuit actually, but a bit inflexible with loading options. I wasn’t expecting much, just wanted to try the amp out before I bought a SUT. I’m quite taken with it.

The baking try is earthed and acts as a shield for the head amps. The case are palstic and although lined with foil tape they were still picking up some hum. The baking try sorted out the noise very well.

Really happy with the phono amp as well.

Bought a Thakker stylus brush from Amazon. Tiny little thing but works really well.

Handy little LED USB lamp. I used some double sided tape to stick an old USB charger to the underside of my TT plinth. The lamp just plugs into it when I needed and can be taken away when not in use. Don’t know why I didnt get one sooner. £6 for two on Amazon.

Cheers, the tray is tucked away at the back of the cupboard at least. I have a alu case coming on the slow boat, so I can rehouse the head amp and ditch the tray.
