    Ebay linked me to them yesterday,hadn't heard of Robson Acoustics before
    novafidelity x40 music server/pre/dac, Arcam A39, roksan k3 power amp,Monitor Audio Monitor 50, Dali spektor 1, van damme interconnects and speaker cable, roskan k3 CD player

    On my phone at the moment but the drivers look very similar to the Wilmslow audio Classique ribbon.

    All very true. But if you eliminated all rear ported, rear firing and open rear speakers, you’d have a very small lot left. Exactly why is rear porting so popular?

    Aesthetics mainly. The other reason would be to reduce midrange leakage and port resonances.

    I would have thought it would be more like 1/500th of a second given it has to get to the rear wall and bounce back again. Haven't considered phase effect from the back of the driver there. Or how long it takes for pressure to propagate in the speaker cabinet to the port.
