    Default Royd Crossovers...Due a Service?

    Hi

I was just wondering if my Coniston and Minstrel Crossovers are due a service and recap.

Time has marched on and I dont know how long a speaker crossover will perform at its best. we are talking what now?.... 30 years in one case...22 years in another

Im on Imgur now so this is a library picture of some Coniston crossovers. I also have a picture of Sapphire crossovers fror reference. Ive got no full idea what Minstrel crossovers look like

https://imgur.com/ker3dJH Minstrel nearest stripdown picture I have so far (Not my units as mine are minty looking)

How long do speaker crossovers generally last please?
    Cheers
    Martin

Both the crossover linked to use cheap electrolytic caps and they are the type of capacitor that ages.

Oh dont worry. I dont get service engineers involved for jobs like this. I carefully learnt how to remove and solder in capacitors and a crossover board is about as simple as it gets ( if the board isnt glued in ) The biggest job is dismantling Royds. The main reason Im tentative is because there are bonded driver tubes and foam ports to take care of

They call me the flux master

If I cant cope with a crossover its time to give up really
