    Default Tonearm Cable repair

Can anybody advise if it is or recommended to solder a broken tonearm cable.

I have discovered one of fine silver wires on my spare 774 arm tube has snapped. Now I'm sure I can carefully solder it but will this have any effect on the sound?

Are there any recommendations on how to dress the 4-5cm of cable where it exits the arm tube and plugs into the base?

There are multiple connections in the arm itself so another is unlikely to make much difference if done well.

Wrap the wire gently around a phillips screwdriver to form a loose spiral. That should do the trick.
