Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Do you know if replacement styli still available for it?
I have seen NOS styli come up for the standard P8ES from time to time but never seen a VdH stylus like mine on the supernova. I was dead lucky to find mine as NOS and sent it to Germany for a once over “al is goot “

I think the ADC XLM mk2 improved is even better.

Possible if the heaviest counterweight is used, and you bring the counterweight forward towards the pivot in order to supplement the maximum 1.5g VTF setting. Otherwise an SME (non-improved) is preferred, and if you use an Ortofon SPUGT you really need to use the counterweight from the SME 3012.

But it's somewhat academic as the OP is interested in fixed-coil cartridges for use in his SME arm.

Garrott P77i at 600 Australian dollars

It's the only MM cartridge still in current production which features in this massive thread (>12000 replies and >20 million reads) by Rauliregas on MM cartridges on Audiogon. The others like the Grace F9Ruby, AKGP8ES etc are all reliant on finding NOS styli (an almost impossible task now)

I use a current production Goldring D42 stylus on my Reson Reca (featured in that Audiogon thread), which is identical to the Reca stylus (Geiger S tip).

    Yomanze,

That's good to know, as there was a post on AA, suggesting that the 1042 stylus wasn't great in a Reca.
