    Default MC Headamp recommendations

Now I have a SUT sorted (it's in the post anyway....), what is a decent head amp to run my lowly MC cartridges (Modified DL-103 and AT33PTG/II)?

I looked for info on the Paul Hynes Headamp, but I am not sure if he is still in business or not.
Obviously there is the Rothwell Headspace, but what else is out there that is worth looking at?

I heard an upgraded Denon HA-500 very recently and that was the best "step up" device of any kind that I've heard.

Paul Hynes has a website, but i found nothing about head amps.
    http://www.paulhynesdesign.com/index.html
The only readily available one i know of is the Graham Slee Elevator.

If you already have a SUT why do need a head amp?

Strictly speaking, I don’t need a SUT or a headlamp, but I am interested to see if they make a difference in the quality of the sound reproduction in my system.

Along with Rothwell we are lucky to have Mr Firebottle in the parish. His products are well liked and good value as well. In house at the AoS sounds like a great place to start, you will be supporting helpful, engaged, dealers with reputations transparently earned (rather than by paying for adverts in the nationals).

+1 for the Firebottle. A good head amp.

The Firebottle headamp is already built into my KIN pre. I just want to try something different on the MM input to see if it is any better.

There is a mod available for your KIN. the one Alan did to his has bested a couple of very good SUTS recently. Have a word with him.

Longdog Audio are bring out a new headamp in the New Year.

I understand this will be sensible money too although I cannot confirm the actual amount.

    I already have thanks Oliver.
Just waiting for the details of the mod, but I am in no hurry over the Christmas holidays.
