    Give your friend the pdf explaining the mod and have him obtain the components. Much easier all round I imagine.

    also it was interesting to read the article below and learn something about high end transports,
    although written in Sept 2010, it was I believe written with good intentions, and helped me settle
    on the current digital wav file system I have ( which I have used for 10 years or so )

    when I read that piece all those years ago, I stopped using CDP's and transports and simply enjoyed the simplicity of
    finding music and playing it from my windows laptop over a bit of glass cable ( S/PDIF ) into the Beresford DAC

    cheers Peter I have just turned a small laptop into a headless music server using Daphile totally amased at the quality of a headless system connected to my dac ,I spoke to Stanley today but he has been ill and not up to modding my dac so the hunt goes on to find someone to do it for me ,My friend who was going to do it can`t know due to work commitments
