Default WTD: Need help with Solid State Apm

    Hi,
I have a Yamaha power amplifier PC4002M that cuts off a couple of times.
By cutting off I mean the protection circuit kicks in but after that it plays OK.
I just need some one in the South East who can look into this and do the necessary repairs if necessary.
This Yammy beast weighs in at 98lbs so shipment is doubtful.
    Thanks.
    Joe

Mods: If this is in the wrong section please help move to the relevant one.
    Thanks.

    Hi Joe
There are two things to check. Before you blame the amp.

Heat, Is it too warm? (Blow the dust out)
And the other is the speaker connections both at the amp and the speakers. Just for kicks re-terminate both ends.

I had a Yamaha receiver used to do the same when i was watching films (LOUD), it turned out to be a crossover fault in one of the speakers. (Cracked ferrite Core)

    Good luck
