    Default 13 Common Audiophile Mistakes

I stumbled on this video today, and it's worth 7 minutes of anyone's time to watch. Very sensible advice!

    Really sound advice.

A mainly digital setup with a musical amplifier and endearing 1970's speakers. A CD player that hardly ever gets used and a turntable that is good enough to remind my how enjoyable my old vinyl is. Some cables and things.

    Yeah. It's 'pants'!

    That's another I hate.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

I found, as I do often do, the American presentation so annoying, and the style so lacking in conciseness and precision, that I could not bother to watch it. What he states, whilst touching on some truths is banal.

This is certainly not a dry, dense, material packed speech.

Much common sense there and the snobbery thing too. I guess many here went into the budget room at Scalford and were shocked how good some cheap kit could sound. Ok some weeks in opinions could change but the minuscule improvements for large outlay should be thought about. But having said that, hobbies of all kinds cost money. A mate of mine years ago was criticising another mates brother about his spending his money on beer, I told him that's what he likes doing and he probably thinks spending money on model aeroplanes is stupid, which is what my mate did. So spend what you're comfortable with but don't look down your nose at those that have a limited budget.

    ‘Lacking in conciseness and precision.’

Reminds me of an American President, but I can’t quite remember his name...
